Dr. Natalie Franz is a Registered Psychologist in child and adolescent psychology with over thirty years experience in public mental health and private practice. Specializing in evidence-based and attachment-informed interventions for anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral issues, and trauma, Dr. Franz is also a supervisor, trainer, and facilitator for the Connect Parent Group as well as a supervisor and therapist of Functional Family Therapy.
Dr. Franz earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a Child and Adolescent Psychology specialization from Simon Fraser University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. During her 20-year tenure with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Dr. Franz completed multidisciplinary assessments of adolescents (12-17) with complex mental health issues, conducted family therapy for high-risk youth and their families, provided clinical training and supervision, and participated in program development.
She has consulted to psychiatrists, physicians, nurse practitioners, kinesiologists, and dieticians to provide wrap-around care in private care settings. Her practice has expanded to include high-conflict and court-involved families dealing with coparenting challenges.
Scope of practice: Individual therapy with children eight years and older, teens and young adults, sibling and family therapy, parenting consultation, and adults.
